Thailand is okay

We arrived on the island of Ko Samui, Thailand last Thursday evening and it's been an amazing three days. We ended up extending our stay from three to four nights soon after arriving at The Jungle Club, our one-of-a-kind accommodation on the island. Samui is heavily developed (2nd only to Phuket) but our bungalow is accessible only by 4x4 on a bumpy paved and then not-so-paved road of rollercoaster grade. The Jungle Club looks over Chaweng Beach and has an infinity pool to take it all in. After waking up and seeing our surroundings the morning after our arrival, we really felt lucky to be here. Some pictures tell the story.

A little bit of paradise...

Do I own the glasses or do the glasses own me?

Picnic grounds in paradise.

Our afternoon became a postcard

I will not drown this day.

Monkey Island. Shout out to Guybrush Threepwood.
(if you got that reference, you are a HUGE nerd)

Beach side dinner. Guys come by selling fireworks, like 4th of July Iwo Jima fireworks, that they will set off for you to commemorate the explosive nature of your love. Another guy lets you hold a monkey to commemorate the ... no, it's just about getting to hold a monkey.

We are happy to be here.

Enjoyed the pictures of "Survivor - Koh Samui" ...I guess you have answered the Letterman question, "Did you see or touch any monkeys?" I reject the Threepwood reference as provocation. Any self respecting, truly educated person alive in the late 20th Century recognizes Guybrush and his important role in the history of computer gaming. JJ should remember him!...JKW

Thanks for the awesome feedback - the nerd reference was self-deprecating. Glad to know our inside jokes are resonating outside of our own heads!

And I thought Guybrush Threepwood was a character in some Kurt Vonnegut book! With another semiobscure reference, Do you know the Jackson Browne song, "Lawyers in Love"? It may semi apply. Nice job improving the world and vacationing at the same time. I believe I have done the same and would love to be there with you. Thanks to the blog we are, sort of.
Have fun, wish we were there.

Thanks for the nerd insult. In fact, I've spoken with apes more polite then you.

(Comeback cue!)

Answer: I'm glad to hear you attended your family reunion.

Hope you're both having fun! Bring me back something cool from the International House of Mojo!
